Exams

Take an exam in Canvas. See the course schedule for exam dates.

Exams 1-4 are not cumulative - they only cover new material since the previous exam. All exams are open note/book but you must work independently (you may not work with classmates on the exam). Exams are multiple choice and true/false. Questions are mainly applied questions, rather than simple definitions which could be easily looked up. Therefore, you should plan to know the material well before you begin taking the exam. Each exam is worth 50 points. The Final Exam is optional and you may take it if you (1) would like to replace your lowest exam score, or (2) you missed an exam and you need to replace your zero grade with an exam grade. The optional Final Exam is also multiple choice and true/false questions, and also open-note and open-book. It is a cumulative exam, covering material from the entire semester.

Study guides for each exam are available below. Prior to each exam, we will also discuss the review questions provided below. Review questions are written like exam questions to give you some practice with the exam format and to review key concepts. The review questions are not comprehensive, so you should use the study guide to make sure you review all of the topics that may be on the exam.
